The College of Music at Florida State University invites applications for the position of Teaching Faculty I in Commercial Music with a focus on Publishing, Arts Management, and Event Production; a specialized (non-tenure track) position responsible for teaching and related activities.

Responsibilities:

Teaches undergraduate and graduate-level coursework in the College of Music's Commercial Music program to include Survey of the Music Industry, Publishing, Marketing and Promotion, Legal Aspects of the Music Industry, Concert and Event Production, and Artist Management.

Actively engages in curriculum development, recruitment, and development of this expanding program.

Participates in activities related to the academic mission of the University, including service on committees and student advising.

Participates in professional service appropriate to the rank.

Qualifications:

A graduate degree in a related field is required at the time of appointment. Experience is substitutable for education as appropriate. 

The successful candidate will: 

*Have meaningful experience in the music industry to include publishing, marketing and promotion, legal aspects of music, concert and event production, or artist management.

*Demonstrate experience in teaching and/or mentoring in a university or professional environment.

An undergraduate degree in music is preferred.

Appointment will begin August 6, 2024.
